Creating documents: linked to the material in under a minute

New in LeanUp for SAP Fiori: documents can now be created as well as viewed, right where you already are. A wizard takes you through it in four steps: choose the document type, give it a description, attach the file, done. Once you know the way, you are through in under a minute.

Until now that meant: switch to the DMS, create the document info record, set the link to the material, check in the original and find your way back. Four applications, four changes of context, and at the end the question of whether the link really took.

The document types come from your system customising, not from a hard-wired list. Any number of originals are stored and checked in during the same pass. Once created, the document number is there in plain text, and one click opens the original in the browser. Creation runs through released interfaces; nothing changes in the standard.

The where-used list has also been added since the last entry: where a part is built in is now answered by one query instead of a search per assembly.

LeanUp for SAP Fiori now reads from four areas

The Fiori version of LeanUp now reads material master, bill of material, routing and stock, all from the live system through released CDS views, not from test data. The bill of material explodes over multiple levels, and with EWM the stock goes down to the storage bin.

Built to ABAP Cloud and clean core principles; all our own objects live in the partner namespace /M2D/. Open the tile in the launchpad and you are signed in; there is no second sign-in.

Documents and the transactional data come next. After that costing, so that alongside structure, times and stock the costs sit in the same place.

LeanUp Desktop stays available, and stays maintained

We are building the Fiori version of LeanUp, and the question came up: what happens to the Windows application? The clear answer: LeanUp Desktop stays available. We continue to maintain it and develop it together with our customers.

It runs over RFC against SAP ECC just as it does against S/4HANA. Anyone not using Fiori, or preferring a desktop client, gets the same 360° view, including purchase order history with a pivot and price trend, where-used list, documents from the DMS and export to Excel and PDF.

As before: what gets built next is not our decision alone. We discuss every idea with the customer who raises it, and once a year, on our Innovation Day, we set the next milestones together with all our customers.

Strategic development is going into Fiori. That said, nobody has to move across while Fiori is not on their agenda.

We are part of the SAP PartnerEdge Open Ecosystem

M2 Digital GmbH is officially part of the SAP PartnerEdge Open Ecosystem. For us that mainly means access to resources and tools that let us develop closer to the SAP standard rather than around it.

For you as a customer it means our development rests on an official foundation. We work in our own partner namespace /M2D/ and keep to the SAP clean core principles, so your upgrades stay your business and not ours.

M2 goes Digital

The beginning. M2 Digital grew out of the conviction that tailored SAP solutions are a substantial lever for a company, and that you do not need a large consultancy to get them.

From day one the focus has been SAP and process optimisation, across the modules and close to practice. It was out of exactly that work that LeanUp later grew.
